Vertical multi-wire cutter for clay slugs
The IFAMAC vertical multi-wire cutter divides extruded clay slugs into pieces of defined dimensions for subsequent processing in structural ceramics production lines. The system operates with the slug stationary and performs several simultaneous cuts using a set of wires configured according to the production format.
Once the section of clay slug has been positioned, the cutting system moves vertically through the product. The different wires divide the material into several pieces during a single cycle.
Each machine is designed according to the slug dimensions, required number of pieces, spacing between cuts, production rate and production line layout.
Vertical cutting with the clay slug stationary
The clay slug reaches the cutter through the conveying system and stops at the defined position. Once the product is correctly positioned, the cutting assembly begins its vertical movement.
The wires pass through the slug simultaneously and produce the required divisions. Once the operation is complete, the mechanism returns to its starting position, and the pieces continue to the next stage of the process.
Stopping and positioning the slug enables the cutting cycle to be coordinated with the required dimensions and production capacity.
Multi-wire configuration adapted to the product
The number, spacing and arrangement of the wires are determined according to the final format of the pieces. The cutting frame is configured taking into account the width and geometry of the slug, clay properties and production sequence.
The conveyors and supporting elements are adapted to the product dimensions to keep the pieces correctly positioned before, during and after cutting.
Integration into structural ceramics production lines
The cutter can be integrated with the equipment that receives, positions and discharges the slug and the resulting pieces. Sensors and the control system coordinate product arrival, stopping, the vertical cutting movement and discharge to the next machine.
The machine can operate alongside continuous slug cutters, separation systems and other equipment used to prepare structural ceramic products.
Custom design and manufacturing
IFAMAC adapts the structure, multi-wire frame, vertical travel, conveyors and control system to the requirements of each installation.
The cutter can be incorporated into both new production lines and existing plants according to the available space, required capacity and characteristics of the equipment located upstream and downstream of the machine.
