Horizontal multi-wire cutter for clay slugs
The IFAMAC horizontal multi-wire cutter divides extruded clay slugs into pieces of defined dimensions for subsequent processing in structural ceramics production lines. The system operates with the slug stationary and performs several simultaneous cuts using a set of wires arranged according to the production format.
Once positioned, the section of clay slug is pushed through the cutting frame. The wires pass through the material and divide it into several pieces in a single operation.
Each machine is configured according to the slug dimensions, required number of pieces, spacing between cuts, production rate and production line layout.
Multi-wire cutting with the clay slug stationary
The clay slug reaches the cutting point and is positioned before the operation begins. Unlike the continuous cutter, the product remains stationary during the cycle.
The pushing mechanism moves the slug through the set of wires. This configuration enables several cuts to be made simultaneously, producing the pieces required for the next stage of the process.
Once the cycle is complete, the cut pieces continue to the downstream equipment, and the system is ready to receive a new section of clay slug.
Cutting wire configuration
The number and arrangement of the wires are determined according to the required final dimensions. The cutting frame can be configured to suit the product format and the production sequence of each installation.
The cutting components and pushing system are dimensioned according to the slug geometry, clay properties and required production capacity.
Integration into structural ceramics production lines
The cutter can be integrated with the conveyors that receive, position and discharge the product. Sensors and the control system coordinate slug arrival, stopping, the pushing cycle and the discharge of the cut pieces.
The equipment can operate alongside continuous slug cutters and other systems used to divide and prepare structural ceramic products.
Custom design and manufacturing
IFAMAC adapts the structure, number of wires, spacing between cuts, pushing mechanism and control system to the requirements of each project.
The machine can be incorporated into both new production lines and existing installations according to the available space and the characteristics of the equipment located upstream and downstream of the cutter.
